Project Objectives

Our Objectives
Objective 1: Strengthen digital and AI-related pedagogical competences in higher education

This objective aims to enhance the digital and pedagogical competences of higher education educators, focusing on the critical and responsible integration of artificial intelligence into teaching and learning. As AI increasingly influences curriculum design, assessment and learner support, educators require structured guidance to adapt pedagogical practices effectively. ADROIT addresses gaps in digital confidence by providing research-informed capacity-building activities that support reflective teaching, academic integrity and human-centred decision-making. By strengthening educators’ understanding of AI opportunities and limitations, the project contributes to improved teaching quality and supports institutions in responding responsibly to digital transformation.

This objective focuses on empowering higher education learners with critical digital and AI literacy skills necessary for academic, professional and societal engagement. As AI shapes information access and decision-making, learners must develop the ability to critically evaluate AI-generated content and understand ethical implications. ADROIT promotes learner-centred educational approaches that foster critical thinking, ethical awareness and responsible technology use. Through structured learning activities, learners develop autonomy, reflective judgement and informed engagement with AI-enhanced environments, preparing them to navigate complex digital contexts responsibly.

This objective aims to develop structured, adaptable and learner-centred educational modules and digital resources that support AI readiness in higher education. ADROIT addresses the lack of accessible, pedagogically sound materials by translating complex AI concepts into meaningful learning experiences. The modules combine theoretical knowledge with practical application, experiential learning and collaboration. Designed for reuse and adaptation across disciplines, these open resources support diverse learning needs and promote sustainable integration of AI-related competences into higher education curricula.

This objective promotes ethical, inclusive and human-centred approaches to the use of artificial intelligence in higher education. ADROIT addresses key concerns related to transparency, bias, data protection and equal access by embedding ethical reflection into all educational activities. Educators and learners are encouraged to critically examine the societal and educational implications of AI through interdisciplinary and reflective learning. By foregrounding fairness, inclusivity and responsibility, the project aligns digital innovation with European values and supports trust in AI-enhanced educational practices.

This objective focuses on strengthening institutional capacity and European cooperation to support sustainable digital transformation in higher education. ADROIT fosters collaboration among partner organisations to co-create frameworks, exchange good practices and pilot innovative solutions. Through transnational knowledge exchange and joint activities, institutions develop more strategic and coordinated approaches to AI integration. This objective enhances organisational resilience, supports policy-relevant dialogue and reinforces the collective capacity of European higher education institutions to respond proactively to technological change.
